Welcome to the new BING!

I hope to refine the format and process, but in the meantime here's a go at it. Let me know if you have trouble reading it. We will be adding BING ads soon as well. If you are a BING advertiser, please get me a new business card, or preferably e-mail a JPEG file to me.

Program:  Project Graduation at Dover High School

Presented by Bethann Cancellieri, Project Grad chair

This June, the 2013 senior class at Dover High School will be graduating after a proud twelve years of schooling in our community. After the ceremony, graduates will hold a substance free celebration. Students will be loaded onto buses and head to Boston for a moonlit cruise on the Spirit of Boston. Entertainment, food, beverages, and most importantly, safety will be provided throughout the night to ensure that a great time will be had by all. Students will arrive back home at approximately 5:00 am.

DHS has participated in Project Graduation for the past 20 years. It began in the 80's in response to a high number of alcohol related deaths on graduation night. Last year, April Theth, then a student in the marketing class taught by Bethann, approached Bethann about helping with Project Graduation. She wanted to increase student input into the project to supplement the parent involvement.

For the past several years, the event has been held at Hampshire Hills, a sports and fitness complex in Milford, NH. Enthusiasm for this location has begun to dwindle, so the idea of a Boston Harbour Cruise was introduced for 2012. They were unable to raise the necessary funds at that time, so returned to Hampshire Hills for one more year. This year, the Project Graduation committee is busy raising funds to do the cruise and to keep the ticket price down per student. The hope is to ensure that every student who wants to go is able to do so. They are hosting raffles, concession sales and seeking business sponsorships. Students who cannot afford the ticket can be sponsored by other families. The event will be chaperoned by faculty volunteers. The buses are being donated, although the drivers will be paid for their time.

Bethann and April want to thank the Rotary Club of Dover for sponsoring last year's event. Anyone interested in supporting this year's event can contact:
