THE FOUR WAY TEST

Of the things we think, say or do:

1. Is it the TRUTH?

2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?

3. Will it build GOODWILL & BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?

4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?

THE OBJECT OF ROTARY

Is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:

1. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for service

2. High ethical standards in business and professions; the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations; and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society.

The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business and community life.

The speaker was Inbar Kevren, who is an ambassador of sorts who travels to educate others on Israel.  She spent a fair amount of time describing the geography in Israel, her village/town, and the requirement for everyone in Israel to serve in the military.  Prior to joining the military, she spent a year of civil service helping educate others in her country.  Her time in the military was spent primarily in the navy, where she attended officer training and ultimately learned to kick butt (if need be) while boarding ships to protect her country and prevent smuggling.
